Lochcarron of Scotland, the world’s largest manufacture of authentic tartans, received official approval to design the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Tartan in September 1997. It was created in sympathetic response and respect of the Princess’s memory, and is based on a variation of the Royal Stewart plaid using colours inspired by the Princess.
